Sewing Machine Types

Sewing machines come in a few different kinds and each are used to do something slightly different.  Some examples of the types of sewing machines are industrial, quilting , mechanic, electronic, and computerized.

  1. Industrial sewing machines are the heavy duty sewing machines and are usually used for large quantity of work. They are also more expensive than the typical home sewing machine.
  2. Quilting sewing machines are specialized to make quilting. Quilting is entirely different than sewing a button or making some clothes. It requires different stitch pattern usually 14″. A quilting machine is a must for anyone that makes quilts.
  3. Electronic sewing machines allow you to complete most tasks by pushing one button. It can be multi- motored to complete different tasks.
  4. Mechanical sewing machines are the basic sewing machine and is run by a rotary wheel with adjustments being made by a hand dial. These machines are popular based on their cost savings and they also are one step up from doing it all by hand.
  5. Computerized sewing machines are the most convenient. They can be programmed to perform repetitive stitches as well as patterns. They are the latest upgrade and are the easiest to learn to use. If you want to get the job done without too much of a challenge this type would be the one for you.

These are just some types of sewing machines and also be aware that these machines come have different specialties within themselves. There are also different brands.
